Focused Intervention Funding
Focussed Intervention Funding (FIF) has replaced LHNF and starts in April 2026. It is designed to support children and young people with emerging high needs who would benefit from a time-limited/focussed intervention. These children/young people will need provision that is more than OAP but who are unlikely to need an EHCP. To be eligible, they must be attending school for at least part of the day.
There is a different process for Early Years funding (see EY guidance below).
Application Process
Early Years and School settings should read the relevant guidance and complete the form below. Forms and additional documents should then be sent by email: FIF@dspl7.org.uk
- Early Years applications will be forwarded to the EY team for consideration.
- School applications will be considered by the FIF clusters initially, and then discussed by the main FIF panel.
